For one week only, you’ll have the chance to retrieve Eridium from killing any enemy. You can exchange Eridium for powerful weapons and a variety of cosmetic items, which will make your Vault Hunter look very snazzy. On this page: Eridium drops have been added to all standard enemies, while, if you’re playing in Mayhem Mode, the rate of Eridium drops has been increased. The price of using Moxxi’s Vault Line slot machine has been decreased - going down from 10 Eridium a play to 5. You will also find that all the items in Crazy Earl’s shop have decreased in price as well, making this the perfect time to buy a new Vault Hunter skin. Combat is still the best way to find Eridium in Borderlands 3, but if you’re selective with your targets, then you’ll be able to reap greater rewards. Revisiting bosses is a great way to start. Defeating bosses like Captain Traunt or Katagawa Jr will grant you a good Eridium bounty. To find these bosses simply return to where you originally fought them. Killing the monsters from Hammerlock’s Legendary Hunts or Zer0’s Targets of Opportunity will also reward you with a substantial amount of Eridium. Like with the bosses of Borderlands 3, you can fight these enemies multiple times by returning to where you originally encountered them. If you would rather enjoy the chaos of a long fight, then take part in one of the three Circles of Slaughter. These are side quests that allow you to fight waves upon waves of enemies, covering the battleground in great loot and, of course, Eridian. The first Circle of Slaughter can be found in the Meridian Metroplex on Promethea. Head down into the lowest part of this area to find an elevator that will take you to the Cistern of Slaughter. For the second, head to Konrad’s Hold on Pandora. Go to the upper level of this area, reached by jumping across the broken bridge, and, opposite where you fight the Manvark, you’ll find the entrance to The Slaughter Shaft. Finding the last Circle of Slaughter is a little more complicated. First you need to head to Desolation’s Edge in Nekrotafeyo. Once you’re there, head into the Maliwan base in this area. Keep going until you reach the last part of the base, then run out onto the walkway to your right. Doing so will cause a side mission called ‘Welcome to Slaughterstar 3000’ to appear on your map. Start this mission, then head straight back to Sanctuary III and visit the flight deck. Using the navigation computer, you’ll be able to travel to the Slaughterstar 3000. On this spaceship you’ll be able to fight waves of Maliwan soldiers. Pick your favourite Circle of Slaughter, grab your best gear and get ready for one long fight. At the end, however, you will have a lovely pile of Eridium waiting for you. The main place to spend your Eridium in Borderlands 3 is at Crazy Earl’s shop, which is hidden away in the Cargo Bay of Sanctuary III. In exchange for Eridium, Earl will sell you a variety of cosmetic items, including:
Vault Hunter skins Vault Hunter heads Emotes ECHO themes Trinkets Weapon skins Room decorations
If guns are more your style, then Crazy Earl also has a vending machine next to his shop that sells Anointed Gear in exchange for Eridium. Anointed Gear is far stronger than your typical Borderlands gear. Each piece of gear has its own set of special attributes, some of which can improve your chosen Action Skills. There are five categories for Anointed Gear - Beastmaster, Gunner, Operative, Siren and Universal. You can buy Anointed Weapons, Shields and a Grenade Mod. You can also gamble your Eridium away at the Eridium dedicated slot machine, Vault Line, in Mad Moxxi’s bar in Sanctuary III. Slotting your Eridium into this machine could reward you with some high level gear. Finally, if you’ve reached Chapter Twenty-One, then you’ll receive a special device called the Eridian Fabricator. Without giving too much away, in exchange for some Eridium, this device will allow you to create the most useful items in the Borderlands universe. Spoiler - it’s a gun that shoots guns.
