A “supermajority” of workers voted to unionise, the Communication Workers of America said. The testers work across ZeniMax Studios, which includes Dishonored developer Arkane, Skyrim maker Bethesda and Doom dev id Software. The update lets you easily pair an Xbox One controller with Bluetooth support, an Xbox Elite Wireless controller Series 2, or an Xbox Adaptive controller, with a Windows 10 PC, iOS 15+, or Android device for remote play from your console or cloud gaming if you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Within hours of reports that a ping bug on your death screen could let you track a single player for the rest of the game surfaced, developer Infinity Ward quietly disabled the ping system. “Huge Bug: You can Ping an enemy during the death screen and the Ping lasts for the whole game, essentially giving you wallhacks on that one player for the remainder of the game,” reported u/zFStatic. “Bruh this is a huge bug,” confirmed another player....

At present, we know that Sunbreak, which Capcom previously described as an “new, ominous chapter” for Monster Hunter Rise, will introduce new monsters, new locations, new hunting actions, and a new, more challenging quest rank - very much in the same vein as Monster Hunter World’s Iceborne expansion, albeit rather less frosty in nature. However, beyond those early details (and a more recent reveal of a couple of new monsters, including “ravenous beast” Lunagaron), Capcom has remained fairly quiet on what players can expect to see when Sunbreak comes to PC and Switch this summer....

This Akuma, from Street Fighter 5, hits the Nintendo Switch exclusive on 27th August via layered armour offered as an event quest reward. The video below gives you an idea of how Akuma will play. Sigh. This evening’s The Future Games Show ended with a fancy CGI trailer showing off the world of Off the Grid, a free-to-play third-person shooter battle royale from new developer Gunzilla Games. When Netflix launched its fledging video game service last November, subscribers were given accees to a total of five games as part of their usual membership. That number has steadily grown since then, with Netflix currently offering 18 games to subscribers - but a new report by the Washington Post says the company is going big in 2022, aiming to offer nearly 30 more titles by the end of the year....

The first Never Alone (also known as Kisima Ingitchuna) launched back in 2014, and its tale of an Iñupiat girl named Nuna and her Arctic fox searching for the source of a eternal blizzard to save their village from starvation went on to receive numerous accolades, including winning the BAFTA Games Awards’ Best Debut Game in 2015. It’s a powerfully wrought adventure, made in collaboration with the Iñupiat community and narrated by a storyteller in the spoken Iñupiaq language, that sees players switching between Nuna and her fox friend to progress - or two players each controlling a character in co-op mode....

“Hundreds of additional megabytes of memory are now available to Xbox Series S developers,” explained the game dev team in a new video (see below) all about the GDK’s updates (thanks, The Verge). Microsoft says this will give developers “more control over memory”, and as such will allow for “[improved] graphics performance in memory-constrained conditions.” So, good news indeed. These memory constraints have been an issue since the console’s launch, and something that has been highlighted by the Digital Foundry team in the past....

As noted by The Verge, WordleBot now lists ‘Slate’ as the optimal starting word. Previously, ‘Crane’ was the New York Times’ favourite starting suggestion, however this has been given the boot in favour of the ‘S’ and ‘T’ inclusive ‘Slate’. This makes sense, as ‘S’ and ‘T’ are two of the most commonly occurring letters throughout our dictionary. WordleBot also lists ‘Least’ as a good starting point. All that being said, The New York Times does say that ‘Crane’ is still a strong word, so if you have become accustomed to using this as your first guess keep on using it....

As chatter around the bloody Pokémon fan project grew, Nintendo began to take action, issuing copyright claims to block footage on YouTube and Twitter (thanks Kotaku). The emergence of this Pokémon FPS comes just a week ahead of Pokémon: Legends Arceus’ release - timing which will likely irritate Nintendo. The potential for kids and parents to see footage of ’that new Pokémon game’ doing the rounds - only for it to be Venosaur getting a bloody shotgun to the face - was never going to go down well....
