Developed in Unreal Engine 5 and releasing on console, the team is aiming for ultra-realistic graphics - and it’s certainly achieving that. Judging by a blog post accompanying the trailer, NCSoft appear to be using 3D scanning, motion capture, and special effects, resulting in some incredibly detailed character models. You can see it in action in the trailer below. As for gameplay, it looks like Heavy Rain-esque quicktime events will feature as the main character seeks revenge against his murdered lover....

Summer Game Fest is, of course, the Keighley-fronted rival (and now semi-successor) to the usual array of E3 press conferences which typically broadcast each summer. There’s no actual E3 this year, as you’ll recall. Announcing the festivities, Keighley promised a “live cross-industry showcase” with game announcements, reveals, and the indie-focused Day of the Devs. Compared to some outrageous press conference times, 7pm is actually not too bad for us here in the UK....

Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto himself announced the holdup this morning, via Nintendo’s Twitter account. The film’s new launch dates are 7th April (in North America) and 28th April (in Japan). “This is Miyamoto,” Miyamoto wrote. “After consulting with Chris-san, [Minions producer Chris Meledandri] my partner at Illumination on the Super Mario Bros. film, we decided to move the global release to Spring 2023 – 28th April in Japan and 7th April in North America....

The Wolf Among Us 2 has, of course, had an eventful journey to reach this point; the original game - a five-episode story-driven adventure based on Bill Willingham’s Fables comic books - released almost a decade ago in 2013 to much acclaim, and the demand for a sequel was immediate. In a statement to Eurogamer this morning, Nintendo said the storefronts were “undergoing maintenance”, with no word on when they might return. “The Wii Shop Channel and Nintendo DSi Shop are currently undergoing maintenance,” a Nintendo spokesperson said. “We will provide an update at a later date.” Prior to the storefronts’ disappearance, Nintendo seemingly made no mention of maintenance plans. Made by Reddit user GlPv, the virtual cathedral bears remarkable similarities to the real-life version (before the 2019 fire that destroyed much of the roof, at least). It’s got a central spire, bell towers, stained glass windows (of a sort) and even flying buttresses. GlPv said that apart from the stone floor, the entire structure is made of wood, with most of the building “based on the frame”. “First I made the frame that was based on the real building, then the roof and walls,” GlPv explained....

Nia Nal, otherwise known as Dreamer, debuted in the fourth season of Arrowverse series Supergirl, and was the first trans superhero in a TV show. By extension, this also makes Dreamer the first character confirmed as trans in Fortnite. Dreamer will be available via Fortnite’s Item Shop later in the event, following a Zero Build Squads tournament where winners can collect the character early. Dreamer’s TV actress Nicole Maines is also on board, and will be streaming Fortnite in-character next week....
