Shadow of the Tomb Raider, if you’re unfamiliar, picks up its narrative around a year after the events of 2015’s Rise of the Tomb Raider, following young Lara Croft as she races through the Peruvian jungle in a bid to stop a Mayan apocalypse. “This is a well-crafted and polished experience,” Eurogamer’s Aoife Wilson wrote in her Shadow of the Tomb Raider review in 2018, “and when [it] actually gives you full control and leaves you alone to seek out its quieter mysteries, it can render you wide-eyed with wonder”....

A job advertisement for Head of Mobile, PlayStation Studios, SIE, reveals plans for the successful candidate to “focus on successfully adapting PlayStation’s most popular franchises for mobile”. “You will be responsible for building and scaling a team of mobile leaders and will serve as the Head of this new business unit within PlayStation Studios.” So, what should we expect? Well, PlayStation’s most popular franchises include Naughty Dog’s Uncharted and The Last of Us series, Polyphony’s Gran Turismo, Sony Santa Monica’s God of War, and Insomniac’s Ratchet & Clank....

Sony initially confirmed it was exploring bringing its first-party PlayStation exclusives to PC in March 2020, announcing that Horizon Zero Dawn would lead the charge - although it said “releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn’t necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC” and that it didn’t have plans to follow Xbox’s lead with day-and-date PC releases. Traffic Jams puts players in the crisp white gloves of a trainee traffic controller who must guide pedestrians and motor vehicles safely through a variety of busy intersections from around the world. It’s a bright, cartoony and quite comical take on the simulator genre but it’s safe to say that I grew tyre-d of its one note gameplay pretty quickly. Even the rapid introduction of bizarre hazards like wasps, zombies and even an unexpected meteor from space couldn’t stop its wacky traffic controlling action feeling stretched thin and repetitive....

Lead character Jack is able to switch between a number of jobs (or classes) that alter his equipment and moveset and should cause some… chaos. The final game has 27 different jobs to choose from, many of which are taken from previous titles in the series. However, some are brand new - three are shown in a new PlayStation Blog. The Breaker job uses the Zantetsuken sword possessed by the summon Odin in previous games to one-shot kill enemies....

Eurogamer has seen screenshots of bots using Team Fortress 2’s chat function to advertise links to ecommerce platforms such as Shoppy, where bot hosters have found ways to monetise their disruptive efforts. Along with offering the option to rent bots, stores are offering the option to purchase “bot immunity” to allow the player to be ignored by that particular brand of bots. It’s basically a virtual protection racket. This seems to have been an issue for the past few months, as posts about bot immunity first appeared three months ago, but reports of these adverts are continue to pop up on Reddit....
