As reported by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, sources familiar with the matter say the next Dragon Age title was previously being designed with a heavy multiplayer component. The project reportedly first entered development in 2015, but Bloomberg says the original vision was rebooted by EA and BioWare in 2017, in a grasp for long-term monetisation. This reboot - supposedly dismissed by some employees as “Anthem with dragons” - is said to be the reason behind the departure of creative director Mike Laidlaw that same year....

Soul Hackers 2 borrows its gameplay elements from other recent Atlus titles, so at a basic level, it’s a turn-based RPG oriented around exploiting weaknesses, which is an enjoyable enough system but nothing out-of-the ordinary for RPG veterans. There are some twists, like an overkill-style mechanic that rewards strategic play, and plenty of customization. But this isn’t especially novel. Elsewhere, however, this game really shines. Soul Hackers 2 is a party-oriented title that weaves multiple characters through a winding, serialised story....

Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars launch together on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch in 2023. This is the big Tokyo Game Show announcement Konami teased earlier this month. The trailer below shows off each game’s remastered look: Suikoden 1 and 2 are critically-acclaimed Japanese role-playing games that launched on the original PlayStation in the mid-’90s. It has, of course, been a long and eventful road for the System Shock remake, which was originally intended to be a remaster of Looking Glass Technologies’ cult-classic 1994 sci-fi horror before ballooning in scope. By the time its Kickstarter commenced in July 2016, Nightdive was calling it a “reboot” and, after a rocky period of development, the studio announced it was putting the project on hiatus after letting “things get out of control”....
